Games in 2021 The Brown Geeks Can’t Wait For!

Games in 2021 The Brown Geeks Can’t Wait For!

With 2020 finally coming to end and the new consoles hitting the shelves (hopefully near you), I am excited for the new year mainly for the many game titles that are coming out in 2021. Below are the top five picks that I personally will be looking forward to with the coming year and can’t wait to play.

#5 Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

Starting at number five on my list is a franchise I have always been in love with. New Tech, new abilities and new enemies make Ratchet and Clank an amazing series of games to enjoy at any age. This chapter of the game looks particularly interesting because, from trailers, it seems like a portal mechanic (like from the popular franchise Portal) will be added with other unique abilities and technologies. Visually and graphically it looks amazing and I can’t wait to teleport from place to place with my new teleporting gun.

 #4 Halo Infinite

Halo fans everywhere rejoice! Another Halo game is coming out with a focus on a campaign mixed with multiplayer. According to trailers, for the first time ever we will get an open world environment where we can explore and journey to our heart’s content. I’ve been following the Halo franchise for years and I have my issues with some changes 343 Studios has tried to make these games familiar yet new. That being said, I am excited to see another game with outstanding graphics and hopefully will not be limited to the console environment.

#3 God of War Ragnarok

Not much is known yet about God of War Ragnarok other than its continued story from the previous iteration and its 2021 release, but it can be expected to be an epic story of resolution, conflict, and chaos with the former Greek God-slayer and the title “Ragnarok” being in the mix. As from Norse mythology, Ragnorok is the global cataclysm in which gods: Thor, Loki, and Odin all die. I look forward to finding out more about Kratos’ story of how he ended up in the world of Asgard and how Atreus, his son, will play a role in this chapter with the last game hinting towards his true identity being the god of mischief and trickery.

#2 Gotham Knights

For the first time ever, a Batman game has come out with no Batman as the active player! Instead, we are playing as Batgirl, Robin, Red Hood, and Nightwing as the main characters in an open world RPG style game. If you are a huge fan of the Arkham series of Batman games, from the look of the trailer, we will get a similar experience with each character having a diversity of unique abilities to use in combat. Gotham Knights looks amazing and I can’t wait for the open world environment with a leveling system to progress the characters with new skill sets.

# 1 Horizon Forbidden West

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite games and stories of the last decade would have to be from Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn and now with a sequel being announced for 2021, we have a continuation of that great story. The trailer for the game seems to show new places of interest to visit such as San Francisco, Yosemite national park, and possibly Las Vegas. Also new mechanical animals like the giant Mammoth, snapping turtle, and crocodile as well as more undersea adventures for Alloy to discover. Without a doubt, I am most excited to continue my Horizon journey and be at awe with the amazing landscape, creatures, and environments I will experience.
